DETROIT | SPRING 2020

By Nancy Giftos

EAT | Commonwealth Café, Birmingham

This is my go to place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Made with fresh, local and organic ingredients you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and the coffee and desserts are yummy too! Current fave: Brown Rice Bowl

MOVE | Above The Barre X, Grosse Pointe

Cardio Barre with Christie will get you moving and sweating. The studio also offers yoga, pilates and dance cardio.

TAKE CARE | Taylor Reese, Grosse Pointe

Pick anything from the beauty bar menu- waterless and toxic free mani/pedi, massage or facial (my personal go to – make sure to ask for Dannielle.). Downstairs is a well curated shop to treat yourself to something special or pick out the perfect gift.

STAY | Shinola Hotel, Detroit

Boutique hotel located in the heart of the Woodward shopping district.

WITH DATE | The Belt, Detroit

Named for its location in a former garment district, the Belt features murals and installations from local, national and international artists. Afterwards, head to The Evening Bar a few blocks away and cozy up with a cocktail.

WITH KIDS | Campus Martius, Detroit

Public park open all year round in the heart of downtown. Outdoor plays and movies in the Summer or ice skating in the Winter.

WORK | Mother Honestly, Detroit

A member’s only network that creates a platform for working mothers via networking. They offer yearly retreats and summit series weekends.

GROW | Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit

World class museum that has something from everyone. In addition to the exhibits there is music, film and art-making.
